Trials and the justice system have been a key part of modern Italian history, with judicial investigations and individual trials often marking turning points politically and historically. This major international conference will bring together over 50 scholars from across the world to discuss research concerning this broad and crucial theme, with a focus on the mafia and anti-mafia, the post-1945 legal transition from fascism to democracy, the role of the media, conspiracy theories and justice, women, justice and violence, corruption, terrorism, migration and a range of other issues.
Keynote papers will be given by world-leading Mafia expert Professor John Dickie and prize-winning author and academic Dr. Benedetta Tobagi.
