75th Conference of the International Commission for the History of Representative and Parliamentary Institutions (ICHRPI)

INVITATION AND CALL FOR PAPERS
On behalf of the ICHRPI Italian Section, Honorary President Maria Sofia Corciulo, Vice President Guido D’Agostino, Secretary General Mario di Napoli and Councillor Sandro Guerrieri invite all ICHRPI members and other interested scholars to attend the 75th conference of the ICHRPI that will be held in Rome and Naples from 25th to 28th September 2023.
Main conference theme: Continuity and discontinuity in the history of representative and parliamentary institutions
Other conference themes:
- Forms and procedures of representation from the Middle Age to present days
- How and why studying parliamentary history: methodology and historiography
- Leaders and actors in parliamentary life
- The development of representative and parliamentary institutions in the Mediterranean Area
- Patterns of Multi-level Parliaments: local, national and supranational Assemblies
- The crisis of representative democracy and its historical roots
Submission deadline for presenting papers to the Conference: abstracts of no more than 200 words, referring to one of the themes proposed, should be submitted to This email address is being protected from spambots. The draft program of the Conference will be circulated within May 31st, 2023, listing the accepted papers to be presented either in Rome (Sept. 25-26) or in Naples (Sept. 27-28).

Attendance fee: 100 euros for ICHRPI Members, 120 euros for other scholars
